Made from old textiles steeped in memories, the quilt tells and connects stories of experiences in faraway places and the ease of travelling. In this textile object, mundane tourist experiences are recontextualised by being given the typical value of souvenirs in a domestic context, thereby taking on the intimate form of a blanket.
The narrative structure of fading memories unfolds through various techniques such as embroidering drawings and sewing in souvenirs and fragments from postcards and photographs. These textile layers and incorporated materials result in a sensory experience of memory that can be explored through smell, touch and sight.
