Shanzhai sonata is a multi-channel video installation investigating the impact of data centred technologies on the urban environment and the human scale. It depicts an imminent future where individual behavioural patterns and datasets they produce become an integral aspect of the post-work society.

About Igor Sladoljev | Presense
Presense is a multidisciplinary agency which investigates the interrelations between urbanism, emerging technologies, speculative design, cinema and social and cultural phenomena. It was initiated by four professionals: Igor Sladoljev (architect, Amsterdam), Gleb Papyshev (researcher & consultant, Hong Kong), Sveta Gorlatova (art curator, Moscow) & Artem Nikitin (architect, Moscow) at ‘The New Normal’ research program at Strelka Institute of Media, Architecture & Design in 2019.
