About Stichting Pleed / Pleed Foundation
In 2020 we rescued the wool of the Leeuwarden herd. With 150 volunteers we transformed their fleece into 80 warm blankets. A year later we grew woad in the gardens of Pleed community members and reappraised the blue of 18th century Frisian wool comber Eise Eisinga. We future proofed his dye recipes in our book "Old blue". In 2022 we curated the "100% wool’ exhibition (Agricultural Museum, Leeuwarden) showing the beauty of wool in old and new objects.
