Flying carpets, the title refers to the presentation of the carpets of huqrugs which can be seen floating in space. An architectural steel installation rises high above with rugs from the collection hanging from it. Huqrugs makes handwoven rugs in Europe, contemporary, sustainable Dutch design.

huqrugs handmade in Europe

Huqrugs creates custom flatweave rugs with the understated elegance and inconventional quircks of modern Dutch design. Designed in Amsterdam and custom made in the Alps and Carpaths. Made by hand in Europe, fair and sustainable. The highest quality wool from New Zealand, leather, felt, linnen and hemp from Europes best producers are our choosen materials. The interplay of stuctures and colour combinations define a refined collection of earthy and very tactile rugs.

Huqrugs is the new venture of Frans Verschuren. He started textile designstudio Amsterstampa 25 years ago. He blends all these years of experience in fashion, interior and theatre into a dramatic, functional style inspired by the natural wonders of the world. Based in Amsterdam and travelling to the Alps and Carpaths for production. Huqrugs are sold worldwide.
