Objects on Trial is a group exhibition organised by Bureau.parso Ă— Meeseek during Dutch Design Week 2026.
Taking place in a former courthouse in Eindhoven, the exhibition reconfigures the spatial layout and functions of the building through contemporary design. Rather than treating the courthouse as a backdrop, the exhibition uses its existing structure as a curatorial framework, allowing designers’ works to reinterpret spaces associated with judgment, observation, waiting, examination and decision-making.
The exhibition explores how objects are perceived and judged through appearance, function, material and context. Works are presented as forms of evidence, inviting visitors to look beyond first impressions and consider the processes, intentions and decisions behind each piece.
A dedicated Examination Room reveals material samples, prototypes, tests, offcuts and unfinished elements, offering insight into the development and making of the exhibited works. Through this structure, Objects on Trial turns the former courthouse into a space for looking, questioning and re-evaluating contemporary design.
