Rethinking solar
Solar energy is essential for a sustainable future, but conventional solar panels are difficult to dismantle and recycle. PV RESILIENCE starts at the design stage, developing solar products that use more circular materials and can be repaired, upgraded, reused or taken apart at the end of their lifetime.
Solar becomes part of the design
The project develops solar products that blend into buildings and their surroundings. These include flexible solar elements integrated into roofs and polymer structures, easy-to-disassemble solar modules, and coloured façade panels that combine energy generation with architectural freedom
From prototype to practice
The products are tested for performance and durability in laboratories and outdoor environments. Demonstrators show how the innovations work in practice, while life-cycle assessments explore their impact on materials, people and the environment. Ultimately, components from dismantled modules will be used to create new ultra-circular solar panels.
