Letterbox
It’s all in transition. That’s what drives, inspires, scares and saves us. For that we need anchor points. Vaults for our emotions and crafts. Some would call it a studio, others an office, atelier or workplace. Some call it home. For people these vaults have doors. For other weighty matters there is another entrance. A gateway of conversations, where the past meets the present. A source of great expectation or life-changing messages. A device to question broader systems of distribution and ownership.
This exhibition celebrates the transition of Sectie-C. Specially selected voices from the terrain’s former and current inhabitants share their ephemeral heritage. Shaped by success, failure, movement and stability. Their personal vision on a common subject, gathered from across the world.
A meeting point for people who may never directly encounter one another, becomes a fine balance between clarity and unexpectedness. Questioning connection, belonging and keeping something precious safe. Nestled in the walls, freestanding on the streets, or hanging overhead like nests in a tree. How do you envision…letterbox?
