Every DAE student creates two final projects for their graduation, each the result of of months of dedication, experimentation and passion.
At a Matter of Seconds DAE graduates reveal and showcase their other Graduation work for it to become seen and appreciated, this exhibition gives these hidden works the attention they deserve.
It shows the visitor a playful curated collection of object and furniture design. A matter of Seconds celebrates the unseen gems and the creative process of this year's graduates.
Playground of possibilities
Each of the objects featured challenges the role of the creator and the materials they used. From a ceramic cabinet grown through extruded clay branches to the exploration of moulds as both process and object, each piece highlights the distinctive creative minds of the designers. Textiles appear in many guises: as rope patterns echoing the calm of nature, as playful soft furniture, and as sculptural containers that inflate with liquid clay to capture tension and movement. A concrete table with a twist on traditional Japanese wood joinery and a collection of prints and striped furniture that play with colour and moiré effects complete the exhibition, together forming a landscape of experiments where curiosity takes shape.
