Envisions presents Above the Clouds, a collaboration with KLM that reveals the extensive design process behind the new World Business Class comfort bags. From initial sketches and experiments to the final product, the exhibition offers a unique insight into our hands-on way of working and the many possibilities that emerge.
Our process starts with research and experimentation: prototypes, textile samples, and sketches form the foundation for a new palette of possibilities. Each experiment can lead to unexpected applications, beyond the original concept. The exhibition shows how ideas grow and evolve, and how a research-driven process results in design that is both aesthetically and functionally meaningful.
Through our collaboration with KLM, process-driven design takes shape as we explore the meaning and feasibility of sustainability, develop new materials, and refine details - all within the context of products produced and distributed on a large scale.
