Tubes in Tschumi, text

During the dark winter days of 2020, the Tschumi Pavilion in Groningen changed in a digital text display. A grid of 104 pneumatic Tube Lamps created the 8 characters of this display. Each character consists of 13 lamps that slide in or out and create in that way the letters of the text.
The text display of Tubes in Tschumi is the next step in development after the Tube Lamp Clock, a digital clock display consisting of 30 Tube Lamps. These lamps, placed in a grid, together created the constantly changing numbers of a digital clock. The Tu

About Lambert Kamps
Lambert Kamps (1974) is an artist and designer based in Groningen (The Netherlands). Lambert studied fashion and design before attending the school of fine art. His work, exhibited in galleries, art fairs, and in site-specific installations or happenings, is characterized by blurring the boundaries between art, architecture, and design.
