Forward Furniture is an exhibition focused exclusively on Signature & Collectible Design, bringing together contemporary furniture defined by a strong individual design language. From unique pieces and limited editions to new approaches to craftsmanship, materials and making, the exhibition reflects the breadth of the field today.
Three Pieces, One Collection
Each designer presents three furniture pieces from one cohesive collection. This format is central to Forward Furniture: rather than encountering a single object, visitors discover a body of work that reveals the designer’s vision, vocabulary and approach, offering a deeper understanding of their practice. At the same time, the format challenges designers to think beyond the individual object and develop their work as a coherent collection.
Exhibition Design
Forward Furniture brings these collections together through a strong scenography conceived as an integral part of the exhibition. A spatial intervention based on carpet creates a distinctive landscape within the former machine factory, connecting the individual presentations into one immersive exhibition while allowing each collection to retain its own identity.
