Discover how design and technology come together to shape a more sustainable world. Built Environment and Industrial Design (together with study association Lucid) present their vision of the future with a number of design projects, aiming to seek meaningful solutions that benefit humanity.

Bio-based

The Department of the Built Environment showcases research into smart, bio-based materials like aerogels, flax composites, and clay. These are shaped using robotic fabrication and other advanced techniques, including 3D printing, to support circular design, reduce waste, and enable responsive, sustainable architecture.

Societal impact

The Department of Industrial Design demonstrates how students can initiate social change through their designs. Using interactive prototypes and collaborative projects, students explore themes such as empowerment, digital-physical integration, and transdisciplinary design.

Future

The exhibition reflects TU/e’s commitment to sustainability-driven innovation, where technology, creativity, and collaboration come together to shape resilient, low-carbon solutions, preparing designers and researchers to create real change in society and the world around us.
