The Work Bureau of the Future shows that job security is far from guaranteed. From choosing your dream job at the coffee bar to facing the reality of uncertain work. An interactive experience that provokes, confronts, and invites you to help shape change.

Experience how (un)certain work can be

What do you want to be when you grow up?
At the Work Bureau of the Future, your journey starts with a simple question at the coffee bar of Bakkie 040. You choose your favorite coffee – and discover which work identity matches it. Ambitious like an espresso, creative like a cappuccino with oat milk, or steady like a lungo. A playful way to reflect on your own dream job.

But not everyone can fulfill their dream. In the Netherlands, 1.4 million people miss out on daily work happiness, and 220,000 people work yet still live in poverty. Job security is anything but guaranteed.

That’s why we confront you with the reality of uncertain work. How does it feel to live without the security of a permanent contract or sufficient income?

In the final step, we look ahead. Together with visitors we collect ideas and perspectives: how can we create a labor market that truly offers security and perspective for everyone?

The Work Bureau of the Future is an interactive experience that provokes, confronts, and invites you to co-create change.
