On the first Saturday of Dutch Design Week 2025 we take the leap towards the world’s largest chalk drawing. Afterwards, the city remains a living canvas, where visitors are free to draw, play, and imagine.

The World's largest Crayon - Krijt je rijk

Imagine a piece of chalk three meters tall and forty centimeters thick: a playful, monumental object that transforms the city into one vast canvas. During Dutch Design Week 2025 this giant chalk is at the heart of Krijt-Je-Rijk, a participatory design project that invites everyone to think big, draw big, and create together. On the opening Saturday we will attempt to set a World Record by making the world’s largest chalk drawing. Yet the project is about more than that one moment. The drawing will come to life through many hands: students from Parmant school, passersby, Dutch Design Week visitors, and the artists themselves. The Reuringdienst, initiator and designer of the installation, collaborates with Bureau Binnenstad. The artistic design is created by HMX, a local street artist, and Tiago Hesp, an international maker experienced in large-scale public art. After the record attempt, the city will remain a living canvas for the rest of the week, open to anyone who wants to draw, play, and imagine.

De Reuringdienst

programme.hosted_by.about De Reuringdienst

Societal challenges require more than policies on paper: they need people to take part. That’s why De Reuringdienst sets things in motion. Grand plans for society don’t emerge in small meeting rooms. Time for reuring! With playful interventions and installations, we invite people to share their voices. This way, we make complex issues tangible and open for discussion—because the best ideas are found on the street.
