Anatomy of Light: The Molecule Series by Hollis+Morris in collaboration with BYBORRE Inspired by the elegant bonds of atomic structures, the Molecule Chandelier explores the intersection of nature, design, and illumination. Rooted in the hexagonal geometries found in molecular patterns, this sculptural lighting fixture is composed of plated metal Y-shaped connectors that form an adaptable, modular system—capable of expanding or contracting to suit its architectural context. From each junction, solid wood dowels extend vertically in a dynamic range of lengths, creating a sense of organic movement. These are capped with hand-blown glass orbs, softly glowing with modern LED light. Reminiscent of the poetic brilliance of 17th-century flame chandeliers, the glowing spheres float softly, scattering light in all directions —bridging historical elegance with contemporary technology. For the first time at DDW, the Molecule Chandelier will be wrapped in BYBORRE fabric, introducing a new softness and vibrant, patterned texture Whether hovering above a dining table, cascading through an atrium, or navigating the length of a narrow corridor, the Molecule Chandelier becomes a luminous sculptural presence—an architectural gesture in light. Designed and manufactured in Canada, the Molecule Chandelier is available in four standard compositions as well as limitless custom configurations. The use of Canadian, FSC-certified White Oak or Walnut—left natural or stained—combined with metal finishes in brass, copper, stainless steel, or custom powder coat colours, offers a rich palette for personalization. The result is a refined, bespoke lighting fixture where traditional materials and modern innovation coexist in poetic balance.
