Re-exploring outdoor spaces
This exhibition questions conventional notions of public seating, its placement and function. By foregrounding modularity and context, the benches form flexible, site-responsive configurations that adapt to terrain, users, and changing patterns of use.
KLOPP designed by Amorf Praxis is inspired by the bog bridge — a low-impact trail system designed to protect ecosystems while offering a path forward. The bench takes this logic into urban and natural contexts, with adjustable height, rotational joints, and site-responsive structure.
VENTURE by Lije Studio is a modular seating system designed to adapt to different spaces and environments. Inspired by proxemics, it supports both social interaction and personal comfort. Built from durable steel pipe modules, 90-degree bends and straight segments, it can be configured to suit a wide range of contexts.
Together, these works propose a more situated, flexible approach to public furniture that acknowledges terrain, time, and the changing dynamics of shared space.
