Rondom is a furniture collection that places construction, material use, and transparency at its core. The collection currently consists of a side table and a cabinet, both built using the same clear and repeatable principle: a flexible sheet of plywood, finished with linoleum, is wrapped around a structural framework.
The bent panels slide precisely into cut-outs in the horizontal shelves or discs, locking into place without the need for visible fasteners. This results in lightweight yet sturdy pieces, where the strength lies in the simplicity of the system. The joints and cuts remain visible — no concealment, only what’s essential.
Designed for digital fabrication (CNC), with minimal material waste and flat-pack shipping in mind, Rondom offers a clear expression of how a piece is made. What you see is exactly how it’s built — honest, efficient, and tactile.
The project is currently still under development. Between now and Dutch Design Week in October, the collection may evolve further in form, scale, or material detail — with the core principle remaining intact.
