Stapels
Stapels
Anne Weijs
Stapels is a collection of porcelain objects, emerged through stacking, balancing and playing. Driven by colour, Anne explores the boundaries of porcelain and the relation between sculpture and function.

Emerged through stacking

‘Stapels’ explores simplicity in technique by translating paper into porcelain through stacking and folding. Originating from paper studies, the objects are built intuitively, with colour, composition, and subtle asymmetries at their core. By preserving the qualities of paper in porcelain, the work creates a tension between balance, weight, and fragility, where sculpture and functionality remain in constant dialogue.

About Anne Weijs

Driven by colour, play, and material exploration, Anne moves between autonomous and applied work as a visual artist. She creates porcelain objects that explore the relationship between balance and stack-ability. Within this process, forms are allowed to emerge intuitively, without a predetermined purpose or function.
