The Holey Lamp is a handmade ceramic lamp made with a concrete base. With its airy, open and interwoven structure The Holey Lamp is intended to break through the fixed outlines that exist in interior and exterior spaces.

Ceramic furniture

We aim to intensify the contrast between clear concrete lines and wobbly holes, as well as the contrast between bright light and patterns of shadow. In fact, working on net structures in clay made us notice that nets often guarantee a mesmerizing shadow-light-effect. With The Holey Lamp we want to intensify this contrast. In short, the lamp is highly functional – for indoor and outdoor use – and offers a new, playful perspective on existing concepts of lamps.
Weight: approx. 20 kg; height: approx. 170 cm; diameter approx. 20 cm

We are twin sisters – Leah and Esther – and founded CortoMagDelft in 2020. Our approach is based on a central vision: the thematization, testing and redefinition of ceramic material. In our projects, ceramics are used as a starting material to give everyday objects a new perspective. Every object is unique but still belongs to a limited edition.
