Rising from rooftops and roots, from waste and water, from earth and memory — Vilnius Academy of Arts unveils design as a living act. Each work whispers a future shaped by care, crafted by hand, and grown from the deep soil of imagination and belonging. These are seeds for new ways of being.

Graduation Projects 2025

Vilnius Academy of Arts presents a selection of graduation projects that explore sustainable design, material reuse, and social engagement. These works reflect a hands-on, future-facing approach—where creativity meets ecological responsibility. Projects include rooftop structures made from waste and ancient lashing techniques, mycelium-based objects questioning permanence, and urban infrastructure from recycled tires. A passive ceramic cooling container revives traditional food storage with 3D printing, while a porcelain installation preserves nature’s delicate traces. A placemaking toolkit empowers communities to co-create public spaces, and a DIY furniture collection reclaims discarded boards, turning waste into meaningful design. Together, these projects showcase how young designers are reshaping material culture—building from what’s around them, grounded in care, curiosity, and the belief that design can be both beautiful and transformative.
