The quiet impact of art
Art plays an important role in our vision for a more sustainable future. It resonates with us in ways that numbers alone cannot capture. That is why we consciously seek collaboration with the creative world to push boundaries. Amid the wealth of international design talent at DDW, we present We Harvest Wind: an interactive installation created in collaboration with ecological artist Thijs Biersteker.
That this work goes far beyond aesthetics alone is evident in the materials used. Specifically for this project, we developed a new, fully biodegradable adhesive together with Woven Studio. The installation is therefore not only an artistic interpretation of our Polestar 2 LCA report, but also a tangible example of the material innovations of tomorrow.
Although the work was unveiled several years ago, its social message is more relevant than ever. By making invisible wind energy and sustainable materials visible, the installation invites visitors to pause and reflect on some of the most urgent challenges of our time: climate change, pollution and the transition to renewable energy.
