Tribute to the refuges

The Altitude Chair series originates from the Last Snow project initiated
by Valentin Jager.

The Altitude Chairs pay tribute to mountain refuges — gateways to a realm no longer of the Earth yet not quite of the sky. Each seat reflects a moment in the refuge experience, from arrival to restful conversation, while capturing the simplicity and atmosphere of these shelters through refined and sensitive objects.

The chairs are more than functional pieces; they embody a connection to nature,
slowness, and contemplation. In a world dominated by
productivity, they serve as a reminder of the need to pause, to
reconnect with oneself and with the surrounding environment.

The minimalist aesthetic of these chairs draws inspiration from
refuges where nothing is superfluous. Their monolithic form
evokes the timeless objects found in these places, inspiring
trust. The softness of their shapes echoes the patina left by
repeated use.
