CO-KIOSK is een mobiele en modulaire installatie voor co-creatie ontworpen en uitgevoerd door Dérive en Studio Inscape wat een fysieke plek biedt voor gesprek, ontmoeting en participatie in de openbare ruimte.

CO-KIOSK is a design research about participation in our built environment.

The CO-KIOSK is built on a 1.5 by 3 metre trailer and can be moved to wherever conversation and exchange are needed. Three fold-out roofs allow for different configurations. It is an all-sided installation with both space around it – featuring a tool wall, workshop materials, a kitchen – and an interior space – with seating for four people. This CO-KIOSK grows over time with practical tools and methods for designers, housing corporations, municipalities and area developers to gather and process this input.

The impetus for this approach lies partly in the Environment and Planning Act (Omgevingswet), which since 2024 has placed greater emphasis on participation in spatial development and permit procedures. In practice, however, organising participation in a way that is inclusive, concrete and meaningful remains a challenge. Co-Kiosk explores how design and participation can reinforce each other by bringing together the right location, materials and formats.
